From a family of musicians, Samuel Iglesias was born and raised in Santiago, Chile. He initiated his musical discovery at a young age by playing the piano by ear, and the piano would later become his primary instrument. During his teenage years, he entered the Concert Pianist program at Universidad Mayor, where he was meticulously trained by remarkable piano interpreters: French pianist Alexandra Aubert and Polish pianist Ewa Jasinska. He began producing electronic music, playing drums, and composing by ear at the age of 14 and teaching private lessons at 15. In 2016, he enrolled in the Commercial Music program at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee, to enrich his work and dedication as a performing musician in jazz and other demanding contemporary styles of music. Later, Samuel decided to major in Music Theory and Composition at the same school, and he graduated with honors (Magna Cum Laude) with a double major in 2020.
Samuel has been awarded for his achievements in piano performance, electronic production skills and other academic endeavors. He won first place in Universidad Mayor’s Student Piano Contest in 2011, was inducted into the Trevecca Nazarene University Honor Society in 2017 and the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society in spring 2018, earned the "Brainiac" Award at the same university in 2019, won first place in the Trevecca Nazarene University's Orchestral Composition Competition two years in a row (2019, 2020) and the "Composer of the Year" award in 2020, and was inducted into the Phi Delta Lambda Honor Society the same year.
